House of Neighborly Service/HNS

HNS is a faith based organizations which provides life-sustaining resources to the most vulnerable populations:

  • children
  • working families who are not making ends meet
  • homeless-families and individuals
  • single parents and grand families (grandparents raising grandchildren)
  • seniors
  • disabled
  • people experiencing a situational crisis.

HNS believes in the hand-up approach and focuses on a family’s and individual’s strengths.  We walk along side, offering support, connecting vital resources and navigation, and helping them return or discover a path of self-reliance.

Life Center

LIfe Centers are shared spaces for non-profit organizations.  Many of the services and resource providers that work with similar clientele, and often share clients, are located within one facility – Life Center.  As a shared space for non-profits, resources and services are more accessible and have greater impact.  Expenses can be shared which reduces overhead costs, allowing more of the donor dollars to go to client services.   Life Center partners provide tools that bring lasting change, which positively impacts the client and our community.

Life Centers can be replicated!  We believe every community should have one.  Please contact Executive Director, Glorie Magrum, if you are interested in hearing about a partnership.  970-342-2273

History and Founders-57 years of serving our community!

House of Neighborly Service (HNS) was founded in 1961 when the Loveland Council of Churches came together, with the united vision of creating a central location to meet the emergency needs of families and individuals facing crises.  Eliminating the lines of people coming to each church for assistance and creating a system of accountability as a goal, they pooled their resources and they created House of Neighborly Service-a place where people seeking help could be referred to a compassionate, trained, and skilled staff; there would be a system of tracking services provided to each person, helping the community’s limited resources to go farther, and truly help those in need.  Today, HNS is a hub of many services, creating greater impact and accountability to those being served and a place where the entire community can get involved through contributions and volunteerism.
