Family Promise of Larimer County

A Partner Agency of Family Promise

Family Promise of Larimer County, an outreach program of House Neighborly Service - assists, advocates and preserves safety and well-being for homeless families with children.

Families accepted into the 120-day program are warmly welcomed and immediately provided all of the resources HNS has to offer. Following the best practices of Family Promise, each family’s situation is assessed and goals are prioritized: employment, safe child care and school enrollment for children. Common barriers that keep families from competing in the tight housing market in Colorado are: poor credit history, past evictions, lack of living-wage employment. These are areas that case managers, partnered with other agencies in the community, will help Family Promise participants address.

Family Promise of Larimer County is an affiliate of Realities for Children, where business, community & service come together to provide the best care for our children.

Children of school age are transported by the Thompson R2-J School District to keep them in their current school whenever possible.

Adults are connected to vital resources, including but not limited to House of Neighborly Service and other partners within Life Center. Accountability is essential for families to address their barriers to housing. The program requires limited spending, budgeting, debt reduction, repairing credit issues, and establishing savings.

Families in the program are hosted by a rotating church network and an evening meal is coordinated seven nights a week. To stretch the family’s resources transportation is provided to the current church each afternoon at 5:00 pm and back to the Day Center at 7:00 am.

Hotel Shelter for Homeless Families

Family Promise of Larimer County partners with the local churches throughout the year to host families experiencing homelessness. In light of COVID-19 and new community health guidelines, churches may need to opt-out of hosting a particular family due to any sort of illness or rise in temperature. We are being proactive in raising funds so that we have an alternate hotel shelter in place when these unexpected emergencies arise.

Give today to help shelter families experiencing homelessness.
