HNS: COVID-19 Response

House of Neighborly Service is SAFELY serving our community during the COVID-19 Crisis:

Utility Bill Assistanceresidents residing within the Thompson School District boundaries may receive assistance with outstanding utility bills. Please call or stop by for instructions for requested documents, (970) 667-4939 (Loveland) or (970) 532-0161 (Berthoud).

Food Assistance: residents are able to come for pre-packed food baskets; based upon family size and availability of product 2x a month. Please bring a proof of address and income. Walk-up process is in place. 

Other Basic Need Services: prescription and gas vouchers may be available as funding allows. 

Clothing Boutique: will be by appointment only beginning July 7. Clothing donations are accepted on Thursdays from 1:00-3:30pm or until full capacity is met.

Family Promise (formerly Angel House): Family Promise is at capacity and will not be accepting new clients at this time but continues to serve the families currently enrolled in the program. 

137 Homeless Connection: effective March 17, 137 is following recommendations for social distancing. Open for services Monday/Wednesday/Friday, 8AM-11:30AM; Tuesday/Thursday by appointment only. Four individuals allowed in the building at a time.

PAT: effective March 16, PAT has suspended all in-home visits. This team will continue to correspond with families via virtual person visits. All group connections are cancelled until further notice.

Volunteers: volunteers should use their own discretion whether to come in or not. You are important to us! If you fall within the at-risk category, please stay home. Contact the manager of the program where you volunteer if you have questions.

Donations: we are in need of monetary and food donations in order to prepare for and meet the needs of our community members for food and other assistance. To make a monetary donation, please go here.  

Items currently needed:

  • Peanut Butter

  • Canned tuna, canned chicken

  • Canned beans

  • Canned fruit

  • Canned Soup

  • Rice

  • Cereal/oatmeal

  • Baking mixes

  • Milk

  • Eggs

  • Produce

  • Toiletries (shampoo/conditioner, hand soap) and household products (toilet paper, paper towels, laundry soap, dish-washing soap, tissue)
