HNS: COVID-19 Response

House of Neighborly Service is SAFELY serving our community during the COVID-19 Crisis:

Utility Bill Assistanceresidents residing within the Thompson School District boundaries may receive assistance with past due utility bills. Please call or stop by for instructions for requested documents, (970) 667-4939 (Loveland) or (970) 532-0161 (Berthoud).

Food Assistance: residents are able to come for pre-packed food baskets; based upon family size and availability of product 2x a month. Please bring verification of address and income. Walk-up process is in place. 

Other Basic Need Services: prescription and gas vouchers may be available as funding allows. Gas vouchers are for medical appointments or work related.

Clothing Boutique: clients may shop in the Boutique, after meeting with a caseworker, from 9AM - 3PM. (Only one person in the household, masks required, no child care available). Clothing donations are accepted on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00-3:30 or until full capacity is met. 

Family Promise (formerly Angel House): A program for families with children that are experiencing homelessness. Family Promise is accepting new clients at this time. 

137 Homeless Connection: Open for services Monday/Wednesday/Friday, 8AM-11:30AM; Tuesday/Thursday by appointment only. Four individuals allowed in the building at a time.

PAT: Families are being met in person (following recommended guidelines) as well as virtually.

Volunteers: volunteers should use their own discretion whether to come in or not. You are important to us! If you fall within the at-risk category, please stay home. Contact the manager of the program where you volunteer if you have questions.

Donations: we are in need of monetary and food donations in order to prepare for and meet the needs of our community members for food and other assistance. To make a monetary donation, please go here.  

Items currently needed:

  • peanut butter
  • canned tuna, canned chicken
  • canned beans
  • canned fruits & vegetables
  • canned soup/stew/chili
  • rice
  • pasta
  • cereal/oatmeal
  • baking mixes
  • milk
  • eggs
  • produce
  • toiletries (shampoo/conditioner, hand soap, etc.) and household products (paper goods, laundry/dish detergents, cleaners)
